Performance reviews

Performance review is about more than annual appraisals. It is about a regular review of objectives and gaining the skills to take on more challenging roles. Annual appraisals should be developmental discussions focusing both on achievement of objectives and plans for the future.

Performance management is used where an employee’s performance is below the standard expected and they need to demonstrate significant improvement or receive a written warning. The process should be supportive and include opportunities for further training if applicable.
